Vineyards in the Heart of Kent

Lamberhurst VineyardPerhaps surprising for some, English wines are gaining quite a reputation internationally as being amongst some of the best in the world. The Heart of Kent is home to several small Kent vineyards and wineries producing award-winning white, red and sparkling wines, which visitors can try for themselves at free wine tastings.

Chapel Down Winery uses grapes grown in two of the largest vineyards in Kent at Lamberhurst and Tenterden in its award winning sparkling wines - good enough to rival genuine champagne and please the most discerning wine drinker. The Winery, shop and Bistro at both vineyards make for a great day out.

grapesBiddenden Vineyard - one of the oldest commercial vineyards in Kent - grows and produces both wine and apple cider at its on site winery. Just a short distance away, Bacchus, Reichensteiner and Schoenburger grapes are grown alongside Dornfelder and Rondo in the 25-acres of vineyard at Sandhurst.
