Accommodation Booking Terms

1 Formation of the Contract

1.1 Completion and submission of a booking form constitutes an offer to you to reserves the accommodation specified on the form. The Heart of Kent acts as an agent for the accommodation providers and the booking will be binding upon you and the accommodation provider when the Heart of Kent issues an acceptance form on behalf of the accommodation provider.

2 Payment

2.1 The total price of the accommodation and the method of payment will be stated in the booking form.

2.2 You are required to provide details of your debit or credit card when submitting the booking form and by doing so you authorise the accommodation provider or the Heart of Kent on its behalf to deduct any sums due and payable by you in relation to the booking from that card.

2.3 The Heart of Kent will deduct a deposit equal to 10% of the price of the first night's accommodation (5% on the total stay in the case of self-catering accommodation) and a £5 booking fee (including VAT at 17.5%) from your debit or credit card upon issuing the acceptance form. This deposit is non-refundable for any reason whatsoever. Some accommodation establishments require a further security deposit which will only be utilised in the event of the booking not being honoured.

2.4 You must pay the total accommodation price (less any deposit already paid) to the accommodation provider on or before the date you depart from the accommodation. If you are booking self-catering accommodation you must contact the establishment as soon as possible to arrange payment in advance of arrival. Please note: some establishments do not accept credit or debit card payment.

3 Cancellation

3.1 If you fail to take up the accommodation by the time stated, without prior arrangement with the accommodation provider, then the booking will automatically be cancelled and the deposit will be forfeited. The accommodation provider may also charge you a cancellation fee. You must contact the accommodation provider as soon as you are able and request their cancellation terms and conditions.

3.2 Should it be necessary to cancel your booking, you will be liable for the full amount in the case of a self-catering property, or for two thirds for a hotel or guest accommodation booking, unless the accommodation can be relet.

3.3 The Heart of Kent strongly recommends that you take out holiday insurance.

4 The Accommodation

4.1 The Heart of Kent maintains descriptions of the accommodation on this website based on the information provided by the accommodation providers. This information is designed to give you a guide to the accommodation only. If you have any particular requirements, you should check directly with the accommodation provider direct before booking to ensure that all your requirements can and have been accommodated.

4.2 The accommodation is booked on the basis of information supplied by you. The Heart of Kent cannot be held responsible or accept liability for complaints or claims of any nature arising from bookings made from this site, nor for any loss or damage which may be suffered by you or other members of your party during or as a result of your stay at the accommodation establishment.

5 Information Provided by You

5.1 You must accurately state the number of people for whom you are booking accommodation. Should our party exceed that stated at the time of booking, you should inform the accommodation provider as soon as possible.

6 Disclosure to Third Parties

6.1 In order to facilitate formation and performance of contracts, the Heart of Kent will pass your details to the accommodation provider.

English Law

The contract will be governed by English Law.
