The Museum of Kent Life in Allington boasts an outstanding collection of historic buildings, exhibitions, gardens and farm animals, telling the story of life in Kent through the 19th and 20th centuries. Why not combine a visit to the museum with a boat trip along the river park?

A little further afield, a host of countryside attractions are waiting to be explored. Set on two islands in the middle of a lake, Leeds Castle has been described as 'the loveliest in the world'. A full programme of special events is offered throughout the year.

The village of Yalding is the meeting point of the rivers of Beault, Teise and Medway and is crossed by three medieval bridges. Set amongst oast houses and orchards, this charming village is typical of the area. It is also home to Yalding Organic Gardens - a series of themed gardens all cultivated organically, taking the visitor through gardening history.
